I have the exact same rifle. I have shot a lot of different ammo out of it. As far as factory ammo it love plain old federal powershok 150s, it will shoot winchester silver ballistic tips. It didn't like rem corelock anything. Hand loads it absolutely loves. I get from some ragged hole 3 shot groups to around 5/8 depending on the load. It loves a 150gr berger classic hunter over 65gr of rl 26 that is a raged hole to 1/2" group. A 162gr hornady interlock ove 61gr of rl26 and a 150gr accubond lr over imr 4831 can't remember that charge weight. But I don't think I will get anymore of them for they have went through the roof on the price of them. When I get same result out of hornady eldx at a third the price.

Both of my 7 Mags (as well as a prior) all found the Reloader 22 and the Barnes 120, 140 and 150 to be extremely accurate and capable for any deer out to 500. Something about that Reloader 22 in 7 mags.

If you are new to shooting, I’d limit yourself to 300 yds or closer. 500 yds is a goodly distance and there are a ton of variables to learn about. Wounding a deer at distance will only leave a poor taste in your mouth. Start practicing now. Congrats on the new rifle.

Thanks good advice I have shot out to a 1000 yards but not with that gun . I have with my cooper 6.5 x 284 .

Just buy some Federal Fusion 150 gr and you'll be amazed at the accuracy and how fast deer go down.

Not worth reloading for if you're only gonna shoot a few boxes a year.

It's a deer rifle, not a competition rifle, thus handloading makes little financial benefits considering how expensive components and reloading equipment is nowadays.
