7.5 twist

i am looking at a krieger 7.5 twist barrel, 27", 6br, to screw on my panda. is this a good choice of twist rate?

thanks, do you have a starting point load wise, looking at 80 to 90 grain bullets. the barrel is on it's way from bruno's.

Powder wise Varget is a good place to start, and a good small rifle mag primer, and a 80 grain Berger, and see if it will behave itself by starting low and working it up to speed. 29.0 is a good starter with the 80 's....
80 grain Fowlers are a great bullet if you can find any...
VV-133 and 135 will work well, as will RL-15, plus many others, but I use these..
The 105 Berger VLD will be your best bet with RL-15, and even the 115 Berger should do well with your twist..
When you get it running, post the results for everyone to see.....

I can't see a 6BR as being optimum with the 115's - seems like an out of balance loading - bullet very big and heavy for the case capacity, kind of like using a small Toyota passenger car to pull a big horse trailer, you can do it but it isn't the best set up.

Don't let that little case fool you one little bit.
What's your views on the 30 br then with bullets heavier than the 115's ?

thanks preacher, i picked up some varget today. i have been running fowler 117 grainers in my 30br with great results.will call claudia about some 80 grainers.
