7.5 or 8 twist ? 6mm slr

Im building a 6 slr on a 700 action, I'm mostly going to be shooting steel and paper at 600 to 1000 yards and hopefully some long range coyote or other varmit action, I figure ill mostly be shooting 100gr to 115gr projectiles, maybe the long 95's some. l figure since there is so much experience here that i would ask here, would you go 8 twist and try to push velocity to stabilize the 110's 115's or go 7.5 and just try to run around 3000 or so fps. Thanks all imput greatly appreciated .
I dont really intend to shoot any comps but barrel life is a concern, would like to try and get 2k plus rds down this tube.
so which do you think is my better route , and does anyone have the .075 throated reamer , seems both ptg and jgs both dont have one in stock and would be 8 wks out. thanks again
forgot to add , barrel choice will be either a kreiger or bartlien 5r in either a light or medium palma or remington varmet contour.

You will best serve, in my experience, to go with a 7.5 twist. If you plan on getting max BC from any bullet in the 105 class (particularly hybrid type forms) and especially from the heavier bullets like the new 110 SMK and 115 rebated DTAC or the 108 ELD-M you will not regret that faster twist.

I've gone to 7 or 7.5 for everything 6mm. Keeps the door open for the new bullets and doesn't seem to hurt the ones that don't necessarily need as much twist.

I have a 7.5 Krieger squirreled away for just such an endeavor. I'm hoping it will handle everything mentioned. You are not going to pick up much stability with velocity increase, from what I've read. Had I to do it allover again, I'd probably sacrifice another 2-3fps and go with a 7. Ya just never know what an enterprising bullet smith might whomp up this year.

I built mine on an 1:8 because it was what was available. If I'd had the choice of either I'd have taken a 1:7.5. That said, lots of people are very happy with the results from shooting 105 class bullets in a 1:8. (self included)

Take a hard look at the 105 vs the 115. When you consider velocity differences and the BC of the 105H or the 107s I think they come out on top or close enough that it doesn't make sense to try to run the 115s.

Well i just found and bought a 6mm kreiger 4 groove in .236 in a #13 plus one inch on the breech end, thats a remington sendero but with a extra inch of breech, total breech length of 3.2 inches rather then kreigers normal 2.2 on that contour, should make setting it back once a no issue. cant wait to get this build shooting, same barrel tate from impact precision has used to place top 20 or near the last 3 years of prs comp with 105's and 107's so im putting some trust into there experience there. kinda wanted a 237 from what i was reading but needed a barrel asap
