7-08 on 700 LA

I'm thinking about re=barreling a Remington 700 long action to 7mm-08. I'll be using Berger 140 Vld bullets. Will there be any feeding issues? Also, am considering the 7-08 improved, but again feeding from the magazine is a concern as this will be a hunting rifle. Thanks Lonnie

You should be fine as long as it isn't a magnum action, if it is you may have to just get a mag box for 30-06 style cartridges and seat the cartridge to the rear of the mag for normal operation.

I have a 7-08 built from a Remington model 700 chambered in 270. It feeds just fine with no modification to the follower, but I had to learn to always cycle the bolt all the way to the rear. I had issues when I first started shooting it because the brass would kick out and I would begin to cycle the bolt forward before picking up the next round.

Thanks for the replies. I've decided to table that project. The cost is going to get a bit high for a rifle used for only 9 days a year. Perhaps the money can be used for a more useable project in the future.
