140 Berger VLD Hunting in the 7mm-08

Looking at the 140 Berger in my 7-08 thinking Varget or H4895

Factory Remington VLS Tube--this will be a hunting load

With a Hornady 139gr SST the best powder I found was IMR4064. Good accuracy and 100+fps faster then any other powder I was using.

I use RL17 in mine .it gives good velocity and accuracy . Jim

Have a custom built 7mm08 with 25 1/2 inch Brux #4 sportor contour and a lawton 7000 action etc. Good accuracy with Varget but not much velocity. Am now using 48.3 grains of RL 17 coming out better than 3050 with no signs of pressure yet. Not much info out there for RL 17 and 7mm08.

Im waiting on a barrel for my Ruger tang safety I'm doin in 7/08 and looking at the same bullet. I'm looking at CFE223 for powder or maybe TAC. I've also got H4895 and varget to use my barrels 22" for it.
