7-08 AI / 180 class bullets

I have read some interesting info on another site( Oz F Class) about this cartridge running 180 class bullets with necked down Palma Brass . Does anyone have first hand experience with this cartridge combo . JB had posted similar with his 7-6.5x47 thread which got the wheels turning ! Little bigger case .... mission accomplished ?

Yes I know a shooter that had a 7 mm he used palma brass but it was not a AI he used h4350 with a fed 205 and 180 bergers I saw him shoot a 10 shot group 4in and a 5in the same day at 1000yds bench rest sorry that's all I know but I hope it will help

I been thinking about the same thing. 7mm08 AI would give descent barrel life.

What kind of pressure does quick load indicate for 47-48gr charge of H4350 ? In a chat with QuickOz this is what most have been playing with in this case as to the obvious availability ( made there ) I would be curious if powders like Reloader 16 would be a good match for the case size ?

47 gr of H4350, 180 hybrid, 3.07" coal = 61,750 psi, 2,737 fps, 30"bbl
48 gr = 65,950 psi, 2,787 fps.

If I run with ADI-2209 (H-4350 equivalent in OZ-land) I get...

48 gr ADI 2209, 180 hybrid, 3.07" coal = 58,400 psi, 2,763 fps.

Interesting that H 4350 generates that much more pressure than the ADI powder . I believed them to be the same just rebranded ?

They are the same powder for sure. Use ADI data in QL for best results.
