I just got a new Short Action Custom Gun in for 6XC spec’d to Tubb’s reccomendations. To start a baseline before loading I bought 50 of Tubb’s loaded 115 DTacs. Although I bought his die set with the included shoulder bushings, I also bought a Redding S Bushing Die for comparison. Tonight when measuring the OD of a Tubb loaded round I came up with an OD of .273-.274 which if wanting .002 neck tension would call for anredding bushing of .271 -.272”. The bushing included with the Tubb dies are at least .005” tighter then typical Redding. I assume it has something to do with his should/neck bushings bu,t something does not add up. I generally just size with a full length bushing die and the run the case through an expander die on the next station....
Anyone been through this or know what I am missing? If you shoot 115 DTACs w/NORMA brass, id be interested in what kind of OD you are getting on your loaded ammo, etc. This is a new caliber for me and I want to at least start of with Tubb’s dies as he does have some credibility when it comes to loading and shooting accurate rounds
Thanks!
