6XC Norma Brass

Anyone taking a closer look at the 6XC now that Norma will make brass? Was going to build a 6XC but changed my mind after hearing of problems with Tubb brass. This is for 1k benchrest.
Any word on deliver of the Norma brass?
Jerry

call John Hoover - he is shooting one - he is using the current batch of TUBB brass and is shooting his rifle 3050fps with bare 115's bullets out of a 28" barrel with no pressure signs - the head hardness of this brass is the key.

When you say the "current batch of Tubb brass" I am not sure what that means. Do you mean what people are referring to as the "third generation" of your brass, or is there something else beyond that. Is the brass I took delivery of in summer to fall of 2005 from that batch. The head hardness of the batch I received seemed pretty good.

Could you please clarify this?

What does it matter? Every time I call Superior Shooting Systems, they tell me they have no brass, don't know when they will get any, and seemed annoyed that I asked.

We should fill all our 6XC backorders in the next couple of weeks. The reason the staff at SSS doesnt give good feedback is because they are tired of answering questions regarding brass deliver.

This next,200K pieces) batch is very good - we are already loading 115 DTAC ammo and have 2 seperate reports today that confirm what we already suspected.
One report - the user shot an F class match and didnt leave the X ring for 20 shots - What a thrill.
2nd report - the user shot a 7/8 inch, outside to outside) 10 shot group at 200 yards in the rain. He will be at the bortac force modernization this weekend and we will shoot him to 1200+
I am going to try to work up some loads with a 6.5XC this next couple of weeks. Shooting a 123gr Sierra and the venerable 142 - should prove interesting - will be intersting since no one has any data as of yet on the 6.5 X 47 lapua.
The 6.5 XC could also be called the 6.5 x 48.5mm.

David,

We will be real interested to hear your results with the 6.5XC. When you get some data I can put that in the BLOG. You might ask Kaltron for a box of the 108gr 6.5mm Scenars. That is what is going into Lapua's factory 300m ammo from what I'm told.

Does anyone know what the 6xc Norma brass might cost? D. Tubb? I hope it's not $80/100 like the Norma 22-250 brass.

Chris

Chris,
The retail price of the Norma 6XC brass will be around $.50 from Superior Shooting Systems.
As for me I will continue to use the TUBB 6XC brass which sells for less than $.38 in quantity.

Norma emailed me last week and gave me the indication that the 6XC run would take place around Easter.
SSS hopes to be shipping Tubb 6XC brass this week.,about a 10 days later than I posted before- sorry)
DTubb

BTW- Anyone checked the retail price of the new Lapua 6.5x47 -,wow!)

.50 isn't too bad for the Norma 6xc as compared to most of their brass prices. What is the Retail of the 6.5x47 David? Do you have any idea what the STREET price may be?

Thanks,

Chris

Chris,
yes- I know the retail and wholesale pricing. I think some else should actually post the #'s.
On another note I will be shooting the 6.5XC around the end of the week with 142's and 123's so those with baited breath can see exactly what this combination's potential will be. The 6.5XC reamer is about 3 years old, when I did it before)...

DTubb

David,
Be sure and keep us up dated on the 6.5XC I would really like to know how it does at 1000yds using the 123gr Lapuas. Thanks again!!!
