6XC Loads

Supposed to get my Shilen 26 inch 1 in 8 twist barrel next week. Going to put in on a Savage 12 single shot action. Will be using Norma brass, Wolf primers and Sierra 107MK's. Anyone like to share starting loads (probably with H4350) and seating depths that have worked well for you?

On both of my 6xc i started with 38grns and worked up to 39.5 before going back to 38.5

+ 1 on confuzed's reply. Don't be bashful about R-17 in approximately the same weights. Let us know how those Wolf primers work out, what works for me is CCI BR.

Seating depth will be in dictated by how your chamber was cut, but as I recall 2.68(???) is what mine measures. WD

I use norma brass,39.0 gr of h-4350, br-2 primers, and 115 bergers @ 3050fps krieger 31" tube. Bughole scary accurate!

27-28" Bartlein 1:7.5 twist. Norma brass, Wolf LR primers, 107 smk's and 38.5gr of H4350. Shoots VERY well out to 1000 yards.

As stated above, seating depth will be dictated by YOUR rifle. I start load work by having the bullets seated in the lands and just do powder weight increases till I find what shoots the best.
Then I start seating the bullet deeper (in the case..away from the lands) in .010 steps till the groups shrink even more.

I know others have their own way of doing load development, but this is what works for me.
