I've wondered about this also. Was considering starting a thread on this very subject. I run 4831 sc out of my 25/06 and it would be nice to have another powder to use.Anyone have a 6XC load with 4831sc? using either 107SMK or 115 DTAC? I have 205M and CCIBR primers. Peterson brass.
Bartlein barrel at 27", 1:7.5.
Tac 30 action
I would trade you if you lived closer.Good Luck finding H4831 or its SC brother. Plenty of H4350 around these parts but not a pound of H4831 in the state, now that I want a pound to play with in my 260 Rem. Go figure...

SRP or LRPI shoot 43 gr of h4831sc in one of my 6xc. Almost 3100 fps with 105 gr berger vld hunting bullet. 42.5 gr with 115 dtacs@2950 fps
Thanks for the info. My last time out the 115s shot better groups with a longer OAL given the same powder charge. Velocity was decent ~3050fps. The 107s did well long also and shot ~1/2minute to 1000yds. I will try the 4831.Just run a ladder starting at 37 gr. and work up in .3 gr. increments. Whatever bullet you want to use is where you'll find the "bullet meets the lands" liking for seating depth. 107's and DTACS are both tangent ogives and are very comfortable with a lot of leade/land configurations. The bottom line then, no pun intended is where the bottom of the bullet sits in the case. Somewhere above the shoulder preferably.
So, IMO, set your seating depth where you usually run a tangent ogive bullet, then start at 37.0 gr. of H4831 and work up. You only need to do sets of 2 at .3 gr. or .5 gr. workups.
Excellent news.Happy to announce that there was indeed one pound left in the state and after a 3 hour round trip, its mine. Actually it was an enjoyable road trip with the better half driving. I got to enjoy the scenery along the Minnesota River valley.
