Update:
I spent a day in NY and got to shoot a few chucks. the 6Mo'Better is a dream out to about 350 yards. I shot 14 chucks with my partner in about 7 hours. Mo'Better took a couple at 100, 200, 250 and a fun one at 345, "over the hill, thru the weeds, nothin but chunks"! The short shots were fun because they were "aim at ear, hit ear" or "aim at teeth, remove teeth" shots. The 6-18 Vari-x 2 with turrets worked perfectly.
I also took my newly Hart re-barreled Arisaka 220 Swift and took several 450-550 yard chucks that were just showing heads above the grass. I had not switched off my old 24x Leupold for my hunting scope, and that limited things because that scope really picks up mirage, and suffers a lot in bright sunlight. It gets dark and wavy and is generally not up to snuff. I was just lazy and didn't switch before the trip. I will replace it before I use it again. I will either use an unemployed varix3 6.5-20 or back to my old standby...gasp...a T10 steel ElPaso Weaver.
The 55 grain NBT works great in the Mo'Better case, getting 3300 FPS and it really slaps those groundhogs and puts a big hole in chucks, no matter the size, little youngster or old groundhog.
