6x50 Bibs Machine?? Veteran BR question

I have come across an old BR gun, last "modded" in the late 70's early 80's. It is in a Lee Six or a early MC stock, glue in. i am only interested because I collect the particular action. But I am curious about it's chambering and the smith/barrel maker?

It is chambered in 6x50 and says Bibs Machine on it. I am familiar with the old 6x47 and the newer 6x45. So a quiz for the older gents here...wanna tell me what a 6x50 is? It is a .223 bolt face. Gun was likely last campaigned back then in the Colorado area.

Thanks in advance and I know all the usual caveats apply...barrel scope, chamber cast etc, but I am ust wondering. My end would likely be to rebarrel into a 20 something for live varmints.

Now, does anyone have brass????

I am not moving on this rifle for a long time...I doubt it is going anywhere. Showed up in a pawn shop, was bought right by a guy wanting to flip it...but it is a unicorn that very few would want.

Ive got a 6x50R (rimmed) in a TC contender. Its a neat round Cool looking case. If I found another one I would probably buy it, ive got a bunch of brass for it
