6x47L die

Hi guys I need some help here, I'm getting a new barrel in 6x47L and I'm wondering if I can use my 6.5x47L Redding type S FL bushing die with a 6mm bushing or do I have to buy a new die?

I'm not sure, but if they tell you you need the 6x47L type S FL die, I have one I will be listing here soon. Trying to thin down my "someday..." pile of stuff.

I disagree because tha case neck is shorter on a 6x47 than a 6.5x47. If you try to adjust the die up to compensate then the case is going to be too long and not chamber.

No chance,

In fact, the only die I found to give acceptable results was the Forster FL 6x47 die (at the reccomendation of several others)

I went the Redding route and couldn’t be happier. Get the 6x47L fl die and don’t look back, that way you don’t have to keep changing back and forth.

Good to hear!

Probably changed (or checked) after I called Redding and told them the neck diameter was .006" too small on their die. Forster die was spot on, and that is the only die I have from them, it works well. Maybe I just had a bad one from Redding.

I load for a 22x47, 6x47, and a 6.5x47. I use a 6.5x47 Redding full length bushing die for all three for full length sizing duties, and a Redding 6x47 neck only bushing dies for when I want to just neck size any of the three.

Neck length is irrelevant......they all use the same headspace gauge.......
