6x47 Lapua and Varget

Would like to hear from anyone using Varget in their 6x47 Lapua using 105 Bergers. Starting loads will be fine if concerned.

Have N140 which is like Varget. Have other powders, but would like Varget or N140 as I have lots of it.

6X47 Lapua Load data 105 Breger VLD

Can anyone help me out. I have a new barrel at the post office and need some load data for 105 Berger and PP 2000MR, Varget and/or H4350. I would like any RL16 information if anyone has any. Thanks for any and all hep. Steve D.

I've had a half dozen 6x47's, and everyone I started and ended with H-4350 and 105's.

I did try H4831 in a couple with satisfactory results, worth pursuing if you have some.

I did try Varget in one, a 22" Rock 8 twist sporter barrel.

Started with 36 grains at 2963, went to 38 grains at 3101.

This was with moly plated bullets and an old slow lot of Varget, proceed with caution.

Winner was 37 grains at 3035, ES of 11, and a 1.035" group at 200.

Surprisingly, the go to load with H-4350 and 105's was 3030 for velocity.

I was running the 6x47 before they had brass for it. Necking down 6.5x47L Lapua brass
now running the Peterson 6x47 brass.
Every barrel shot better with RL16
It will shoot faster than H4350 and not pressure
out as soon, so you can run a faster load than H4350 and not have to push it.
I know impossible to find. Lucky I have enough.

I've seen it a couple times this past week at $430 plus dollars for 8lb. WOW

Yeah, H4350 is the powder to use.
I've heard N150 is really good in it. Never tried it.

I have a 6x47 and it likes both H4350 and VVN550, both shoot small groups (consistently less than 1\4" shooting off sandbags with hunting style stock) both Berger 95 and 105 VLD Hunting bullets. Fun caliber with low recoil!. The 105 VLDs liked every load between 37 and 39 grains (max of 1/4" and min of 1/8").

Went and bought some H4350 at Runnings yesterday. $44.99 a pound. Just have to wait for the new barrel for my Borden. Thanks to all who replied.
