6x45

Hi newish here. I got a question.
I have a bergara b14 ridge with a 18" 223rem barrel 9t. Im looking to get it rebarreled over winter and i was gonna go 24-26" 7t 223 or 223ai. It sits in a krg bravo currently.

My plan is club prs out to 750, local range to 600 and we do moa matches (informal) out to 600. Some informal fclass to 600 as well.

But then I saw the 6x45 and 6tcu. Id normally go arc but that involves alot of work for my bolt.
I also have a howa 1500 with a 8t 223 20" barrel so in theory 223 is covered.
Would you go 6x45 in my situation? Id like to shoot 80-95gr bullets. Maybe use it for my daughter who will be 10 next year for deer hunting out to 200 yards and maybe coyotes

I'd stick with your original plan. With your daughter shooting the Howa. Maybe swapping out the Howa stock for something like a Boyd At-One with adjustable LOP and comb so you can both use it comfortably.

I own a 6x45 and 6mm-204(6x47 Improved) I wouldn't pick either to build a LR rifle around, in dont think there is enough HP to push 6mm heavies.

The howa is in a chassis. My original plan was to run 80gr eldx for deer. Maybe ill stick with that plan and go 223 for the bergara as well. Maybe build a 6x45 or 6arc ar.

The 6x45 will reliably push 95’s at about 2700 in a 26” barrel. Any more and case life goes away fast. Run the numbers and see how that works for you. Personally if you want to shoot to 750 I’d look at the Dasher or even just a straight 6BR. Both are very mild and easy to shoot for a child and are in a whole different league performance wise to anything on the 223 case.

Id go that route but I already have the bergara with a 223 bolt face. Its something i was interested in trying. But im sensing 223 or 223ai would work best anyway. Running a 80gr eldm at 2800 and a 95gr smk at 2700. It favors 80gr from 223. Plus then I can do f/tr class as well
