6x45

Thanks for all the positive input. My next question would be since the case is of relatively small capacity, and probably won't be able to drive the really heavy 6mm bullets like 105 -110gn, it probably would shine best with lighter shorter bullets, what twist rate would you guys recommend I use?

It will handle the 95gr SMK's great, 1:8 twist barrel and you're good to go. It just so happens that throated for the 95's the 85gr VMAX fit perfectly also. I have been thinking about trying the 90gr Tipped SGK, they should do well. I also bought some 95gr Bergers but haven't tried the yet. I'm shooting a 6x204 but have shot the 95gr SMK in my buddies 6x45 and you can stretch its legs pretty good.

Built a 6TCU a few years back. Had shot variations of 6-223 for a long time in a pistol.
The rifle is just boringly accurate with 60-80 grain bullets. Powder, never found it to be picky.

Just rebuilt my 6x45 this morning after having it torn apart for a few years. Remington 700, 22" Remage, MC squared carbon stock with a Wyatt DBM set up.

Does anyone plan on trying the 80gr ELD-VT anytime soon? Be very interesting to see what it does with the x45 velocity.

I'm looking at rebarelling a well worn Winchester M70 HV from 223R to 6x45, just because its different.
I know theres lots of AR shooters with this, but has anyone played much with it in a bolt rifle? Is it easy or finicky to tune?
I have a REM 700 with a 21” 1:7 twist barrel. It seems to like any load I try.

I have been shooting Hornady 100 btsp over 24.5 grains of Benchmark. 2550 fps avg. It just keeps shooting three shot 3/4 inch groups. Hot or cold barrel
