6X300 WSM

I have a Savage 12FVSS that I restocked. The caliber is 300 WSM. I am wanting to put a switch barrel, varmint cartridge for ground hog season. I was surfing the Pac Nor site and I noticed that they chambered a 6X300WSM. That might be a dandy. Can anyone give me any information about this cartridge? I would like to shoot an 85 grain pill in the rifle. Possibly a 100 grainer?? Any information would be helpful. I am considering this cartridge because it would be an easy barrel to switch back and forth?? No bolt work necessary. Tom.

I would recommend one of the WSSM rounds rather than a WSM. I have a 6.5mmx300WSM and it is a huge case for the bore size,extreme overbore).

Ryan at Infinity chambers the 270 WSM necked down to 6mm Called the black raven. That is the same case as the 300 WSM but already sized to 270 and makes for an easy neck down to 6mm. Give him a call and ask??? 918-876-1752

You have already been given advice. So I thought I would share some information. The 6mmWSSM only has about 600 rounds of useful barrel life and a difficult cartridge to shoot accurately. The 6mmWSM will have less barrel life, and even be more difficult keep a load shooting. Your throat will errode significantly with every 20 rounds.
