6RAT or 6WOA AR Varmint Upper

I am going to have White Oak build a varmint upper but I am stuck between a 6RAT or 6WOA. Costs for dies and brass are approx the same. 95% of my shooting will be paper punching up to 200 yards off the bench. I like shooting the lighter bullets so I am thinking 1:10 twist, 22" barrel.

I do have the ability to turn necks.

Pros for 6WOA:
More load data avail
Large following of shooters
John H really knows how to make them

Pros for the 6RAT:
Greater case capacity/higher velocities
Fatter shorter case, theoretically more accurate
Load VLD bullets to mag length (but I have no plans to shoot these)

Tricky call that. Both are fine cartridges in and of themselves but more common amongst (across-the) course shooters whose needs are a little different.

My first 6mm upper (2007) is a 6HAGAR & I love it. Hornady took away the brass issue a few weeks ago. I had John rebarrel another match upper (2010) in 6RAT before the brass thing was resolved, just in case.

If you don't run anything heavier than maybe 90's in the 1:10 (if that) my choice'd be the 6RAT or even the later FATRAT.

Most of the 6WOA load data is with heavier bullets anyway though John probably has customers using them for varmints so ask him what he thinks'd be best.

You're right in that he builds 'em good, he knows his stuff for sure.
