So brand new to the 6PPC but not to reloading. A friend gave me a few cases to start with that had been fired a few times. I loaded them with a starting load of H-4198 (saving my N-133). After firing a few and depriming/sizing them I noticed a slightly bulging primer pocket. Uniformed and cleaned and reloaded them and went back to the range. They fired OK but didn't group real well. When I deprimed/sized them again the whole primer pocket was missing on a few cases. So I got some brand new Lapua 220 Russian cases and went thru the whole sizing process. Got back home and slightly bulging primer pockets again. Uniformed/cleaned/reloaded but this time I primed 5 cases with the same CCI primers as before and 5 cases with Federal Match primers. Of the 5 CCI primed cases 2 blew out the primer pockets completely, the 5 Federal primed cases no further damage. My theory is that the CCI primers are to hot and are "etching" the edges of the primer pocket and subsequent firings are completely breaking the primer pocket out. I am in the process of processing new cases and will prime them solely with Federal primers. Thoughts?
