Is there a way to identify gold box from blue box lapua 220 Russian brass by sight or weight? Bought some used brass and pretty sure its mixed.

Is it still 220 Russian? If so yes, the neck thickness will be different, if not then no. YMMV

It's been expanded, neck turned for .262 chamber and fired unknown number of times.

My Thoughts on accuracy and used brass. Especially 6PPC and other brass that requires special preparation.

A box of good brass is usually $100.00 give or take. It then requires hours to form, turn the necks and sizing. Or you can send it BJ's and have him do it and while it is not cheap in my mind, it is worth every dollar because I have confidence that is has ben prepared properly.

So you decide to buy used brass, with no idea how it was cared for or how many times it has been fired. Was it annealed periodically? How many firings will you get before it looses it's usefulness?

The reason you need this product is that you own an expensive rifle and demand absolute accuracy. I don't believe you can obtain the results you are looking for, on the cheap. Excellence demands top equipment.

Now ask yourself, why would someone go to all this expense and then sell it at a low price.

I buy new brass and have it sent to BJ. While it is more expensive, I know that know that high scores are my own fault and not the brass.

It's what you don't know, that will come back and haunt you.

With the powder and primers being at a premium commodity thought I'd try some of these cases from someone's stash. Not many culls, loose primer pcs thrown out, cut the necks same on all.
You're exactly right. Brass is cheap compared to everything else spent to travel and shoot matches.

Buying used brass is a really bad idea! I purchased 6BR Lapua (used) supposed to have been fired twice, I used it for 30BR and had several neck separations and other various problems.

I agree, if you're gonna pulling on it buy new ....
I have 4 firings on norma 6ppc, pockets are about gone.
I have some "lizzard" made Lapua, same firings, still good to go.
