6mmBR starting loads

After reading the recommended starting target loads for the 6mmBR I checked in some of my reloading manuals. The load I was checking was for a 105-107gr with 30grs of Varget. The manual lists the highest or maximun load in the 29gr range. Has there been any issues with the recommended loads?

Hoosier as with any load you should work UP to your guns max charge but in my experience there has not been any problems with that range. I started my br load at 28.5 and up I went to find out mine loves 30gr even. I did pierce some Rem primers but no others show any signs of pressure..30 grain of varget with a 105 vld .010" in the lands with cci mag primers and the rest is up to you !

Thanks Dan...Yes I would work up the load before trying 30grs of Varget. I guess I am cautious when venturing outside the limits
in manuals. I am a beginner when loading for 6mmBR...my experience has been more M1A/AR15.

Go Slow! My wife's 6mmBR will not shoot 30 grains of Varget - why I do not know, but the pressure signs are very definite as being too high.

We ended up shooting 30.5 VV550 with a 107 SMK and CCI-450 primers in her gun and are getting the same velocities as mine with Varget and the flame temperature of the VV powder is lower.

Her gun now has 2000 rounds through the barrel and is still shooting quite well out to 1000 yards.
