6mmBR Short Range Accuracy

I agree with you except the only place 10.5 would apply would be IBS, If he is not looking to IBS I would advise a 13.5 lb rifle. If he is only interested in club shoots most are ok to at least 17 lbs that I have attended. One gun do all to 600yd an 8 twist 6 br would be the easiest place to start and be competitive I believe.

The only reason I said 10,5 pounds is because it covers the NBRSA and IBS group shoots. If I wasn’t interested in group shooting, I’d run a 13.5 pound gun. As it is, I have both to cover what I want to do.

Mike. I made no mention of a 6BR, so not sure what you are getting at with me.
I wasn't coming at you Jimmy and after re reading your post, I see that you didn't directly mention what the post is about..a 6br at short range. There's a very small difference in how you worded your post and how I interpreted it, especially with the op's topic in mind and discussion of other cartridges besides a PPC. My apologies if you were offended but my point remains, as I've heard my original interpretation of your post lots of times. That being, "oh, well if you're just shooting score, a 6BR can compete." That's what I don't understand, for clarity, particularly against PPC's, head to head. That's all.

Not offended Mike. My response was to Jeff because he asked if I had an opinion to share.

For the record, I’d still run a PPC for short range if I was looking to get started in the game. If that didn’t trip my trigger, I’d have something else chambered. Easy enough.

Hey, that's me!

I actually saw a DeLorean last weekend. And I heard (second hand info) that someone is going to start re-making them.
When they were being made in Nova Scotia, we used to see car carriers full of them, headed south, at Dysarts truck stop in Hermon, Me...a favorite haunt after Wednesday skeet shooting.

That Would be IBS & NBRSA for 10.5 lb gun.

Most of the time I’m running one of my 10.5 platforms at 600 and 1000 yard Benchrest. Just put on a heavier barrel and put a weight in the back, then add heavy a$$ scope.

Bart, My 100 yd. 6BRX started life as a 10.5 PPC . Now it's 16.5. Have you shot a PPC at 600 in a match? I compete regularly in 500 yd ghog matches with mine in a 10.5 light gun and do well if conditions are decent.

Haven’t taken the 6ppc to a 600 yard match. I’ve played with it at the house at 500 yards. Like you said it does pretty well until the wind kicks up.
