It is hard to believe that after all this time, Gunsmiths are still reaming chambers with the older,,as in originol), 6BR Rem reamers.
In my opinion, if you are going to step up into the world of potential that the 6BR poccesses, there is only one option, that being have your chamber reamed for the 6BR Lapua Brass. The official name is "6mmBR Norma, Lapua", that is what is on the head stamp.
If your Gunsmith does not understand the difference, then he is about 10 years behind in the quest for Extreme Accuracy.
The 6BR is truly one of the high performance chamberings in the field of extreme accuracy, but in order to take advantage of it's true potential, you need to start with only the finest in components.
The fact is, the Lapua Brass is a bit larger in the web area, minimum spec chambers reamed with the older reamers will sometimes not accept the Lapua Brass. But heck, The Lapua is so far superior to either the Norma or Remington brass, that it is hard to justify the existance of those two.
Before you make a big mistake, tell your Gunsmith that you want your chamber reamed with a Reamer dimensioned for the Lapua Brass. If he refuses, or doesn't know what you are talking about, get another Gunsmith. Or, at the least, allow him to become informed.
As for dies, The Redding Competition Dies are all manufactured, and dimensioned for, the Lapua Brass. You will need a Body die to size the case and bump the shoulder, the Competition Neck Sizer-De-capper, and of course, the Competition Seater.....jackie
