6mmBR _ _ _ ?

So, I've decided to go ahead and build a 6mm "something" . Primary use will be for F-Class Type matches, mostly for our local clubs 500 steel match 8", 6", 4" square plates.

Going to start with Berger 105 Hybrid's and a choice of several proper powders.

My problem is , I LIKE EASY. So, I'm leaning towards the plain 6mmBR. I see the Dasher, XC, BRA, etc. These seem to only add 100fps and are hard to get brass, etc .

I'll get to choosing dies later, help me decide on the cartridge.

No Turn

All of the cartridges you listed can be bought and any including the 6 BR can be hard to find cases for at this time. You may also find it tough to buy your dies. Some of the 6’s come in either SRP or LRP versions so you might want to consider that if your current primer stock favors one vs. the other.

Mostly good advice above. I will disagree on one thing, bullets. Sierra 107 Match Kings come tipped and measure better than almost all custom bullets I check.Hornday ATips do also but double the price. Varget is my choice but 4895 or 8208 are options along with RL15. Have fun. All other factory bullets I gave up on, too many different piles when your done. You might make them work but you said easy.

Have to agree. Although I have been able to shoot some nice groups with the Bergers, the 107 Gr. Sierra MK BTHP has proven to be my go to bullet in my 6mmBR & 243AI. I am still testing the 110 Gr. Hornady A-tips for seating depth.

107s for me too! Just got done testing 2 different lots with different base to Ogive measurements. After adjusting depth, they shot the same. Great bullet in mine.

Have to agree with the folks above. The Sierra 107's are one of the easiest to tune.
The A-tips are really consistent no matter what caliber, just expensive.
You can sometimes find them more often because of that.

I run a 6 Creedmoor and for me it has exceeded my expectations with velocity and consistency down range. At this time its the only 6mm I have ran but there are some excellent suggetions above mentioned.

One other bullet to consider is the Berger 108 BTHP. Actually shoots better in my rifle (Bat B, Krieger 7.5tw 26") than either the 105VLD or the 105 Hybrid. Haven't tried the 107SMKs.
