6mmBR 8.5twist

Hi there.
In the process of putting a 6mmBR together for 300-600m BR. Action will be a Borden. My riflesmith has a Krieger #17 HW varmint, on the shelf, but it is in 8.5 twist rather than straight 8 twist. Wind conditions are a issue, so I would be wanting to use at least a 90g, but more often than not a 105g bullet. Should I insist on a 1 in 8?? or will it not make a difference? And would you go for a 26, 27, or 28' length.

A lot of the guys are using a 8.5 tw 6BR, for 600 yd benchrest. Shooting 105 Berger. Search this site Terry Brady, Sam Hall They have shot records using 8.5tw.

I like to leave my barrels as long as they can be, without paying extra 28' max
