So here I am an old dog trying to understand new tricks. I have a 1975 Rugar #1b in 6mm Rem, with a 1-10 twist, (according to the factory) that I have shot probably 50 rounds through it, at coyotes and a couple deer. Since it has been a long time, I last bought 6mm Rem ammo it appears to be very hard to find, these days. So, I have bought an OLD Classic Lee loader and decided to give a shot at reloading the very few rounds I shoot. I have always shot over the counter 6mm Reminton 100 gr Core-lokt ammo and have hit my coyote and deer targets pretty consistently. My shots are between 100-150 yards and never taken one longer and do not intend to. With ALL this being said I am interested in what people suggest as a reload for shooting 100-150 yards for coyote and deer? I have read numerous things on reloading and much of it is way over my head and I just want to reload a few to shoot a coyote or two and possibly put a deer in my freezer. I actually do not use this rifle much because I prefer to hunt deer with black powder muzzle stuffers and use it more to shoot coyote. Thank you for any experience you all can share with this old dog trying to learn a new trick.
