6mm remington international

Can anyone send me a cartridge diagram and any information available on the 6mm remington international? I believe it is a savage 250 length cartridge just a little shorter than the 6mm HLS.

I did a little search and found this....hope it helps some

I have shot the 6mm Remington International in position rifle competition since 1961. My chamber may be the Walker version which is shown in the older Sierra manuals and in the Pacific manual. The case is the full length 250 Sav. with the shoulder pushed back quite a bit.

The rifle is a 40X chambered by Remingion and later rebarreled with a Douglas. The chamber supplied by Douglas was identical to the original.

The rifle is used for 200 yd competition and all loads have beed somewhat reduced. For the most part I used the 75 gr Sierra with IMR 3031 and today shoot the 65 gr Vmax with 4198 and 4759.

Although I did have the rifle rebarreled to the Rem. International I would not select the round today. When I did it either the 6mm BR was not out or I did not know about it. The version that I have requires two form dies and after time the necks develop small cracks at the neck shoulder junction.

Can't say if the rifle is as accurate as others but it always fired well aimed shots without a hitch. Ignition was always good with light loads for instance.
