6mm HLS

A high power shooting friend suggested that I have a rifle chambered in 6mm HLS due to it's simplicity of forming brass and that dies can easily be made by shortening 6mm Remington dies. Could anyone shed some light on this cartridge? I see it pictured in the 'Competition Cartridges' article by Cheechako, but there is nothing in the narrative related to the HLS specifically. Some history and information from past users would be appreciated.

While the 6HLS is an excellent cartridge,I've had several good HLS barrels), you'll be money ahead to go with the 6MM/6.5x47 Lapua offering - Forster dies are readily available and there is comparatively little case forming. The new Lapua 6.5x47 case requires only resizing of the neck - no relocation of the shoulder. Forster labels these dies simply: 6x47; I purchased two sets from Graff & Sons - both are excellent. Good shootin'! R.G.
