6mm rem vs 243?

It makes a great sales pitch though.....Put those words in front of caliber XXX and sales will go through the roof...I do find however that some cartridges are easier to find the correct load easier than others, so does that make them "inherently accurate" or just easier to load for ????? :confused:o_O
Depends on what you call accurate. 5 shot groups, 3/4", 1/2", 1/4".

I have two 6mm Ackley. Shoot 87gr vmax @3600 fps and 600 yard shots on chucks are becoming common. I use 7x57 lapua brass made into 6mm ackley. If I had to do it over I would go with 6x284.

Could you take a minute to describe the dies used and the steps involved please.

6mm Rem owner wanting brass.

I wish I could. that was pre chemo days. I know that I googled 6mm ackley brass and there was a lot of info on how to do it. I also made a mistake in my post. it's norma not lapua. it's just a matter of necking it down from 7mm to 6mm and I was using redding bushing dies in small steps and then annealing, fire forming and then turning the necks. it's been 8 years since I made 200 and haven't needed to make any more. I do know that getting consistent neck tension was difficult. hope that helps
