6MM Rem Brass

Not much choice for 6mm Rem brass. Rem, Win, and Horny is all i can find. Bought a box of 50 Hornys at Sportsmans the other day and 3 of them had splits. 2 of them at the neck/shoulder junction and 1 at the case mouth. Would like to buy higher quality brass and form it but unsure weather to start with 7x57 or 257 roberts ? Anyone have any thoughts on making 6mm rem from these cases ??

You can make 6mm rem brass from 7x57 Norma Brass and it’s great quality- the other option as I have tried is taking 25-06,270 Win, 30-06 and size it down using a 6 Rem FL die in very small adjustments - you could use some 30-06 Lapua and neck turn it after.

Norma & RWS = CIP

Rem, Win, Hornady = SAAMI

you had better know your chamber specs

Web dimensions are different along with neck thickness

For varmint rifles, Old Win Blue bag would be my first choice...good luck!

I have had good success with Remington brass in the 6 Rem AI and 6 Rem in custom chambers.

257 Bob is what I used in the past to make 6Rem, but I recently came into a glut of once fired brass. So I gave all my Bob brass to a buddy who has 6.5/257 Roberts AI.

People want $1 per piece of Bob brass these days. And most of it is crap Remington brass! Buying straight 6mm Rem is a lot cheaper and no forming.

Wow didn't know Bob brass was that salty, although rifle brass, other than 223, seems to be getting expensive.

I found a pawnshop in Bozeman MT several years back that had a huge box of Bob brass for 20$ a hundred, it was all Winchester and WW. I bought 400 Pcs.

Thats awesome.
We got a pawn shop here too that carries once fired brass. Every once in a while they'll have brass I want. Found my last 100 Federal 6mm Rem brass there for $20.

We just had a production run of 6mm rem Win Brass come through, haven’t seen it in Canada for years. I bought 30 bags of 50- quantity discount helps

As mentioned the Norma 7X57 brass works great and is easy to size. I've been using it for my 6mm AI's and no complaints.
