6MM question?

Is there a 6MM round either a factory offering or a wildcat that is bases on the 6.8 SPC round, thanks to all in advance.

If I was starting from scratch I would go 6 ARC. If I had a pile of 6.8 brass I'd sell it and go 6 ARK.

Yeah the ARC is a very impressive little cartridge. If done up in an AR platform, the cartridge based on the SPC cartridge has an extra margin of safety because of the smaller rim diameter .441" for the ARC as opposed to .421" for the SPC based rounds. That puts a little extra steel around the circumference of the bolt face.

What weight class of bullets you looking to shoot? That factors in this also.

The 6MM ARC in an AR is a (play within the rules) cartridge. Keep it to 52,000 PSI and all is well. Bolt guns have added capabilities but self loaders are another game.

The TAC 6 is a very fine round using 6.8 spc cases. Published pressure for the 6.8 spc is 58,740 psi.
