6mm Norma BR & 6mm Remington BR are the same cases after 1990? The chamberings in the rifles differ by throat length. Neck & FL dies could be marked either and work fine. Bullet seating dies marked REM may not handle long (heavier) bullets. Shouldn't the dies just be stamped "6mm BR"? I'm lost on this one.

check the case lengths. the original 6br remington is shorter neck if I remember correctly. They original remington guns were the same way, so if you have a 40x that is chambered in one, and bought lapua or norma brass, you would have to trim the length down to suit. to my knowledge that is the only difference. I don't know which year they changed.
