6mm Dasher with 105 Hybrid or 108 BT load data

I'm looking for info on shooting these bullets. Im currently shooting the 105 amax/cci 450/varget combo and it shoots pretty good. I'm looking for a bullet I can tighten up my groups with. Anyone prefer the berger or smk over the amax? I've tried the 105 JLK and 105 berger target vld and didn't get as good of accuracy as with the amax. I'm using this for 600 yard f-class.

I have had good luck with the berger 108 BT.
32.5-33 gr RL15 (depending on temp)
CCI 450's
Berger 108's jammed .010 in to the lands.
In my rifle I was getting right around 2950 fps in a 28" Krieger 4 groove.
multiple 600 yard clean targets with my best being a 200-16X last season.
You may also want to check out the new Berger hybrid.

Berger 108's jammed .010 in to the lands.
In my rifle I was getting right around 2950 fps in a 28" Krieger 4 groove.
multiple 600 yard clean targets with my best being a 200-16X last season.

Very close to the load I was using last couple of years. I ran 32.2 in the summer. Good advice on the hybrids too.

Will running the 108 with varget work as that is what I have on hand?

Start at 32 and work up in increments to 33.6 or depending on your rifle you may be able to go a little more. Pay attention to your primers they will start to show you when to quit. I have had good success with 32.7 and 33.3.

Every barrel is different so the only thing to do is give it a try and listen to your rifle.

try the 107SMK... I haven't tried them in my dasher, but in my 6br's, they shoot very well at mid range.

Yeah forgot about the smk, I have tried that also, just had better luck with the amax for some reason. I ordered a box of the 108 BT and the 105 hybrid today from midway so we'll see how they work out in the next couple weeks.

For reference shooting a 28" 8 twist krieger with .237 bore diameter.

In regards to loading these bullets, I understand I should start with a 0.010 jam with the 108 BT, how about with the 105 Hybrid?

I have only tried one length with the Hybrids in my 6 Dasher, .015 off the lands. But then I only had to try one load to get mine to shoot. It shot all along, I just had to figure out how this one wanted to be held. Very lightly was the answer.

32.5 Varget
205M primer
105 Hybrids .015 off
MV 2993 3 FPS ES

In regards to loading these bullets, I understand I should start with a 0.010 jam with the 108 BT, how about with the 105 Hybrid?

Mine prefers them in the lands .010", some folks are jumping them.

My load at the IBS 1K Nats last year was 32.2 RL 15 / 108BT/ CCI 450's.

And that sounds more like what I've seen so far in a few barrels using Berger 108's, 33 grs and up the primers would be falling out if you could get the bolt open. I don't have any of them anymore but you might get by with it in a .237 bore or maybe a really long freebore.

4xforfun....what speed are you getting? 2950-2970 I'am guessing.

Steve, that's an impressivel low ES. For reference, what's the diameter of the bullseye target in your photo, meassured from outside of furthest ring?

Honestly, I'm not really sure. I started on the 108's right before the IBS nationals and did everything half assed and in a rush.. I had the chrono info in the chronos' memory and never had a chance to pull it. I think i was around 2970 - 2980, but the ES was TERRIBLE...40+ FPS. But, I guess it shot OK.

I am getting good results with 31.5 H4895, 105 hybrids, 010 jump. avg 2936 0s and 1s if I do my part. 28 shilen with 8 twist select match bull barrel.

I tested a few of the 105 Berger Hybrids and the 108 Berger with 33.0 grains of Varget and didn't have very good luck at 100 yards. However, with help from a member here, I used RE-17 and the berger 108BT and shot a 0.387 3 shot group measured from outside to outside, which I believe would be a 0.144 group. That was my best group ever in this gun . I will load more and confirm how this continues to shoot.

hey Larryk40 What primers do you use with the H4895 ? I'm just getting started with a dasher and I'm using cci-450s but the milder primers always did better with H4895 in my 308s. Just didn't have any 400's at the primer store.
