6mm dasher, bart 105's rl 15, rl15.5 imr4895

ok SO FOR 1000 YARD BENCHREST SHOOTERS
the question is: where would you start? brand new 6mm dasher, barts 105, lapua ff cases, 205/205m/ cci450/ br4 primers, rl15, rl15.5 and imr4895. i have a dasher, so not new to me...but what ladder would you shoot first ??( not groups, just a node/velocity search at 200/300)

SO while listening to a few comments, i shoot 15 currently. won 600 yd national lg score with it. varget never worked for me. there is a comment floating around in cyberspace that 15.5 is their answer to varget...i wanted to try it and it is where i started. more to follow

so some starting points
barts 105 hammers at 2.43x this is TOUCH in my rifle
cci 450, lapua brass and rl15.5. alliant has NO DATA FOR THIS POWDER IN A DASHER. reading some posts i got a "feel" for a starting point.
i did a 15 count ladder in 0.2 steps from 31.4 to 34.2. i got 2842 to 3053 fps. there are 9 shots in the diag hole in the pic...at 200 yards. case not full, no bolt lift issues. aprox .4" for a 1.8 gr spread

so i took my 15 shot ladder data, and plotted velocity vs shot number.
it showed several small steps that maybe nodes. i loaded up 3 each of the top four steps. will shoot at 200 , wind permitting and see what shakes out. the best get reshot as groups of 5, then seating depth, and then...
(tom..my top load this time is 33.9)

Bought an 8lb jug on Friday. Paid 299.00 plus tax. Tested yesterday and today. I found that it is very similar to Varget. Individual grains of powder are larger and difficult to dial in on wanted charge weight. Velocities were higher for set given charge, compared to Varget. With the bullets I was working with the harder I pushed them the larger the group got. My best groups were at 33.70. I than shot H-4895 and found no advantage in my case other than filling more of the case. On the down side it’s dirty. Takes more patches down the barrel. Again to clarify, testing done on a 6Dasher.

so i shot 4 three shot groups yesterday. nothing outstanding. very mild right left breeze. mainly 2 and 1's. will reshoot 3 of them as 5 shot groups...probably tomorrow. brownell just shipped my 8 lbr of 15.5. and getting a seb max se soon...life is good
