6mm Dasher Barrel

Will have ~750 rounds through my current barrel by the start of the season in March, so figure it is time to get my 'next barrel' on order.
Am thinking about trying the 6mm Dasher. About how many rounds should one expect from a 28" barrel from one of the preferred suppliers (Bartlein, Brux, Broughton, Kreiger, etc.)? Is the Dasher considered a 'barrel burner'?
Thanks.

Just had the threads cut off one and re-chambered the other day with over 1500 rounds. Looks like new again thru the bore scope. Good for another season!

I shoot mainly slow prone with my Dashers, and expect 2000+rds useful accuracy. Another Dasher is used in BR Varmint Silhouette, where the pace of shooting is most often faster in order to take advantage of a condition. Strings of 10 targets & unlimited sighters - not sure yet whether this bbl will last as long as they do in the slow prone game, where speed of pit service dictates how fast we can shoot.

What is the accuracy level you will you say the barrel is done? a .1 or .2 or more ? I have a old Brux that has been set back 3 times and guess what well over 3000 rds. and it sill will shoot under .2 and in the wind it will still put them in a hole. Is it worn out? I save them for the local ground hog matches when i can't shoot competitively anymore. On the other hand i have new barrels with less than 500 rds. that are fire form barrels. I watch people ruin barrels by improper cleaning, bore guide without the insert in place, reuse patches, never wipe off the rod or if they do they use the same rag all year and drop it on the ground and use it. The user may be the barrels worst factor…… jim

Excellent news.
Have a 40X with 27" Shilen barrel, 8" twist, Shilen trigger and McMillian stock that should be here by Feb. Now to chase down some brass, bullets and dies. Merry Xmas to all.
