6mm BR subsonic?

Prepared some cases and stepped out on the deck this afternoon.

I am very happy with these results.

8 shots @ 50 yards .476 -.243 = .1945 with the 2 flyers included it was 10 shots in .750 - .243 = .507

5 shots @ 100 yards, 4 of them 6.25 -.243 = .382 with the 1 flyer it was 1.25 - .243 = 1.007

Certainly no competitor, but the back yard coyotes will speak my name with terror.

amen to that and thanks Odin....

my 6BR rifle is being built this week and will try that TB load as a starting point with mine when i get some time to sit down at the reloading bench. 22" Schneider Barrel - 1x8 twist polygonal will be threaded to allow suppressor attachment, so will be interested in trying some flat based bullets to see if they stabilize. been down that road with subsonic 308 loads, and its pretty much a function of barrel twist plus using a flat based hunting bullet.

Burnsome
You might use mine as a starting load, but for a standard free bore 6BR you probably will get to 6 grains. At 6 grains I was supersonic.

I think the best gauge for good groups will be the velocity of 1043 fps in a 1:8 twist for the 87 grain bullets.

Tomorrow I will try some 87 grain Vmax because I have 600 of them :o!!!!!

gotcha....thanks. once i get going on the project i'll report back results.

Tested the 87 gr Vmax with the same results, Except that the cost of subsonic shooting just went down.
I have 600 vmax in my inventory WOOOO HOOOO!
It is such a hoot shooting through the suppressor.

that's a boat load of bb's for sure! ;) have you shot any full powered loads thru your gun with the suppressor as well? curious as to how quiet it was even though the bullet would be supersonic. my experience with a 6.5Grendel is pretty quiet using a 308 can with full powered loads.

Any idea what the heaviest bullet bullet that might stabilize at subsonic velocities in the 6BR running a 1x8 twist?

Full loads are supersonic so the only sound I hear is the supersonic crack. It's seems to be about as loud as a unsuppressed 22lr.

I could not stabilize anything heavier that 87 grain in my 18.5" barrel. As stated above it's 1:8 twist.
