6mm BR question

is anyone having a luck shooting the berger 108 in there 6BR? if so whats the load? last question is where do you find clinch river bullets? i have been looking but can't find them!

I just rechambered a krieger 8 twist to 6BR and took it to the range yesturday. Wanted to see what it liked best, 105 vld JLK's or Berger 108's.

At 300 yards the 108's shot well inside the 105 jlks in heavy wind. I did my best to wait for the calmest moments but it was still a windy day.
I shot all the 3 shot groups with jlk's at one target and all the 3 shot groups of 108's at another and it was painfully clear what it liked best. Hands down the 108's

The smallest 3 shot group was .6 (31 grains of varget)
I do not know for sure if that is the best load as I still have a lot more testing to do but the answer to your question is YES. I'll put away the JLK's.


As far as Clinch River, he stoped making them. To say you "cant" get them anymore is a stretch because I know he made 1300 for a freind late last year but as far as I know he isnt making at the moment.

hey thanks where did you get the 108 having hard time finding them to.

Had to get them from a fellow member on here. Picked up 400 and now wish I got 800. They seem to work well. Im going to try them in my 6x47L next.

I shot a few groups with the 108 Bergers last weekend. All groups were 5 shot/100yds with Varget. All bullets were seated out to the lands and shot with my Savage 6mmbr 1in8 shilen barrel.

So it looks as if 29.6 - 30 grains has some potential.
