6mm br or ppc in an AR 15 Platforn

I was questioning in an AR-15 what type of bullets could be fired in that platform. Any thoughts on whether a 6 mm PPC or a 6 mm BR would work ?

Brass cost and feeding for the main thing. There are plenty of cartridges that will shoot as good for less money and less hassle
Then a PPC? I think not.

Joel I would give my vote to the PPC. More bolt assemblies are available for it. Basically just get one for a 6.5 Grendal. They both use the same parent case and rim size. You will be able to get feeding worked out better too. A BR is a bear to feed from anything with more then a 10rd capacity. With the PPC all you will need is a bolt head, mag and barrel. Try to get a mag for the 6.5 Grendal. It shares the most in common with the PPC.

Based on recent postings, I’d do a 6mm Reddick!;)
It’s based on the 223 cartridge, so “all ya gotta do” is get a new barrel! You should see the groups the inventor is posting! It’s a game changer!o_O:):):)

If you want a 6mm in an AR platform, I’d recommend any of the 6mm Grendel. With an 8 twist barrel these should do fine to 700 yards with a 95 grain bullet.

The variants are the 6 AR and the 243 LBC both of which are basically identical as they are both necked 6.5 Grendel.

Dtech 243 wssm. Brass is readily available and provides 6mm creedmoor/243 ballistics in an ar-15 platform. 95gr sierra hpbt bullets fit within mag length constraints and remain supersonic to 1k yds.

Not to stir the pot, but why do you want to choose these calibers? I don't have the experience that others do but why not try the 6MM x 45? I think that all you'd need would be a barrel and to have the headspace checked using a stock bolt. I don't think that magazines or feeding would be an issue and you'd have to neck up a .223 case to 6MM with the proper dies. If I'm wrong please correct me.

An Ar can't really take advantage of the accuracy potential of a ppc. You also don't really need the accuracy of a ppc unless you're competing in short range br. It's not going to feed as reliably as something like a 6 Grendel and you can still get plenty of accuracy from a well built 6 Grendel.

I have a 6x45 AR upper. I don't know why it isn't more popular. 95gn VMAX and a 9.5 twist barrel works great for ringing steel and clearing out jackrabbits.
