6mm BR Lapua brass consistency

Got to measure three boxes of Lapua brass, all from the same lot. Blue box, lot P0033702/2473612. Brand new, not turned, trimmed, or shot. Weighed with a Chargemaster 1500. Here is the data in case it is of interest to anyone...

A few things I do know about Lapua 6mmBR brass is that 1.) it is VERY long lasting; 2.) compared to other brass that is NOT 6mmBR, it RARELY needs annealing; 3.) the primer pockets will keep primers tight even under extreme pressure>>>mostly due to the fact they are SMALL primer pockets>>>>nevertheless, they stay tight. 4.) my rifle ALWAYS stays consistently accurate! For the rest of the inconsistencies, they have never affected my accuracy adversely! I now have a "gold box" (still unused) and I will see what, if any, difference there is any once I break into that box... But until then, I still have ZERO problems with my current brass. That's my 2 cents worth...

Man i don't get the same brass you do. It needs anneal before you fire form, some primer pockets are loose before fired and flash holes are every where now. I don't weigh any more because of the variation on the outside. I anneal every firing to get consistent neck tension...... jim

I was thinking of doing an experiment where after I trimmed and turned the cases, I reweighed to see the correlation and resulting new distribution.

A few years ago Jason and I combined on six boxes of 6mmBR brass. Jason weight sorted them into four lots. I got two he got two. Now my trimmed and formed Dasher cases are very consistent by weight.

Did you shoot each 1/4th as a batch, or did you sort each lot further for matches and such?
