Younger, newer shooters don't want to do the work. It's why traditional br is going away. Plus the influence of video games. So almost as accurate is good enough. I laugh reading about mandrels and associated problems every time they load. Turn the necks, then load it 20 times or more, no problems, accurate ammunition. My parents taught me many years ago, going with the crowd doesn't make it the right choice.107SMK in the lands. A lot of guys seem to be going away from turned necks..
I agree, they want you to give them all the answers to all there questions about shooting , testing, loading, and not spend there time working on all of it. They want instant success without the work being put in it.Younger, newer shooters don't want to do the work. It's why traditional br is going away. Plus the influence of video games. This is the main reason why we have such a hard time getting new/younger shooters into this sport. Unless you do it the way I deem suitable, then you are doing it all wrong because you are too lazy to do it theI agree, they want you to give them all the answers to all there questions about shooting , testing, loading, and not spend there time working on all of it. AGREE 100%This is the main reason why we have such a hard time getting new/younger shooters into this sport. Unless you do it the way I deem suitable, then you are doing it all wrong because you are too lazy to do it therightmy way.
103’s at 2’850 {not Bart’s but a direct copy from dies made by the same maker} resulted in a 200.14 at 600 F Open for me… Seems to be an excellent weight for the 6BR {at least for my 1:8 28” Benchmark} though I have had very good results with Sierra 107’s as well, not so much with a variety of Bergers that I have tried…103 Vapor Trails
YES!!!My parents taught me many years ago, going with the crowd doesn't make it the right choice.
No I disagree. When they ask how you load and tell them about 35 steps until you have a loaded round and and at about step 7 they have drifted off. Then you see them wonder around from shooter to shooter trying to find someone to give them the answer they want to hear. Of course this one applies to many older shooters also. Of course YOU MEAN WE NEED TOL.EAVE AT R:30 IN THD MORNING, NO WAY.This is the main reason why we have such a hard time getting new/younger shooters into this sport. I am meeting a young shooter at 4:30 AM tomorrow morning to carpool with and shoot a match one state over that I have spent much time with helping to show him the ropes....thank you for proving my point! No I disagree. Of course if you have the gun, buy the components, load the shells, dive all the time, they will go along a time or two. No Eat is college football, no Sunday I watch the NFL or the best one off all....Mommy( the wife or gf) says no.
I hope he sticks. Very few do. As a group, coddled, no ambition, and no work ethic. We are talking about the young as a group not the few that buck the trend. Now banging steel with a .75 gun you can buy factory ammo to shoot and compete with, that seems to have a bit more appeal. I see teens come with dad for a season, not every match, very few show up after that first year. You can argue if you want, but go to matches and look around. Take every one over over 60 away from br matches, there would be few if any. You think Kelblys dropped Pandas because they are over run with demand?I am meeting a young shooter at 4:30 AM tomorrow morning to carpool with and shoot a match one state over that I have spent much time with helping to show him the ropes....thank you for proving my point!
Well maybe they’ll be 60 someday and get tired of playing around and get the itch to do something with their life. lol.I hope he sticks. Very few do. If your opinion is true, then how do you explain the huge following and attendance in the PRS and F class community that are half our age ? Maybe it’s just BR they don’t stick with because they sure spend plenty of time and money in those disciplines. As a group, coddled, no ambition, and no work ethic. Go back and reread post #15. Lots of difference in a .1 gun and ammo vs a .5 to .7 gun and ammo. Different mind sets. Hey , I am glad they are shooting but my point in traditional benchrest is a dying breed. If you think otherwise I think you need to get your head out of the sand. Sad but true. Multiple organizations does not help, traditional rules regarding guns bring tweaked does not help, lots of contributing factors but here we are.If your opinion is true, then how do you explain the huge following and attendance in the PRS and F class community that are half our age ?
