6mm br and 6.5x47

out to 600 yards how will the 6mmbr compare to the 6.5x47? comparing the 105-107's in the 6 to the 123's in the 6.5. cliffe

why don't you guys quit arguin' on fireforming and try to answer this.somebody probably has both and could fill us in on drop, wind drift, etc. thanks cliffe

I think you will be very well served by either caliber. I have had a bit of experience now with the 6.5x47 and it is superb, especially out at 1000 yds,see gun of the week 85). I also now have a 6BR in the form of one of Gary Elesio's R5 repeaters, see gun of the week 74). I'm still fooling around with the adjustments on the R5 to get it to fit "just right" but it did an excellent job in it's first match. The ballistics at 600 yds definitely favor the 6.5 but the difference is really not worth worrying about. With a Bereger 105 VLD in a 1-8 Kreiger, my R5 has no trouble keeping them in the X-10 ring, even in weird conditions, once again, that's when the shooter does his part). The 6.5x47 will really show the difference when you get out to 1000 yds where the 130 gr Berger VLD really shines.

You won't be disappointed with either caliber and good luck and enjoy shooting!
