Before we get into the details yes this will be harder on barrels like a 257 Weatherby or 26 Nosler 20-250 and so on.
But if you ever have a B&C whitetail or mule deer at disance in a sketchy wind or need to snapshoot a holdover quick barrel life will be the least of your concerns.
This was built for ballistics and mild recoil for hunting.
I took a 7 PRC necked it down to 6mm. I made a couple changes to the case on the print and I had a custom reamer made for it.
You can still use 7mm PRC dies and there is no fire forming. To make cases I have a redding 7mm PRC bushing die set. I start with a .288 bushing and size the case down. I then go to a .280 and finish with a .272.
After that I trim and Chamfer and now are ready to load. I am using ADG brass until I can get some Lapua.
6-284 on the left 6mm Baba Yaga on the right.

The rifle specs are a Sako TRG-S action with a Shilen Match Sporter #3 8 twist 26.5 inch barrel. The Rifle was built by me.
For a bullet I am using the 115 DTAC nose ring. I was surprised on how easy this case was to tune. It was not any harder than a 6-284. By the third group out of the rifle I could have stopped because that is the load I will be using.
Here is the load of 69.5gr of unicorn dust velocity. I say unicorn dust because the powder is readily available and I do not want another R-26 situation. If someone wants to build one I will give out all the details.

I did have them up to 3541fps but the load did not shoot as good. If a guy used R-26, R-33 or US 869 I think you would see 3600 fps. I did not hit any high pressure nodes when I was working up a load and still had room.
This load is very consistent even with 2 different lots of powders it shoots 1/2 MOA or a little under at 100 yards. So now it was time to test it at distance.
I shot this at 610 yards off a bipod with a rear bag. I had a 4-6 mph crosswind from 3 o'clock. I did not hold any for wind I wanted to see how it cut the wind.

7ish inches of drift at 610 yards. I have the rifle 2 inches high at 100 yards thats a 300 yard zero.
The impact you see on the plate is with 4.5 MOA of elevation on the scope. Where I am shooting is 865ft above sea level.
You read that right. 2 inches high at 100 yards only needed 4.5 MOA for 610 yards. If you start looking at time of flight on this it is pretty crazy.
Outside to Outside.

I am going to call that load good enough. The recoil on the rifle with a suppressor is about like a 6-284 without one. Not having the rifle surpressed it recoils like a 257 Weatherby.
All in all this thing really impressed me with how easy it was to load for and the ballistics are down right scary hence the name.
