6mm 250 Brass

Rather than buy a box of 22-250 brass (which I do not shoot) I found some some range brass, I do not have an dies for 22-250 brass.. Should I try "new' unfired brass ?
You don't know what chamber that brass was fired in. or how many times. You've got a new barrel, always use new brass. Don't screw with range brass. **Also, if you have a reamer print of your chamber or can get one, and can get a web dia. for Lapua brass if you plan to use that stuff, make sure it's not too big for the chamber......22-250 Lapua is a bit larger in the web and won't fit all custom chambers unless spec'd with that brass in mind..

Reviving this, I finally got my new to me rifle home chambered in 6x250 and scoped the barrel, it looks to be pretty low mileage.

Where can I find dies? I've been scouring the web with no luck. Even just a body die and I can scrounge up a Lee collet neck die (with 6mm mandrel). I still need brass, but the dies are going to be more difficult to find.
A 22-250 type S fl die with a .243 sized neck bushing will work. The hole up there is big enough for the next size neck.

Finally getting around to working on this 6-250. Got a seating die figured out, someone sent me a a Hornady 22-250 seating die and I ordered 6mm collar and stem for $15 from Hornady which should work well.

Dropping it into my old 40xb rimfire stock and all thats left is optics and load development. Got a keg of XMR4350 I'm planning on using in this. I figure I'll start around 34gr working up to 38gr with a 108eldm.

Put some air in those tires.

Not quite zombie status for this thread, but this past season I did get out and shoot a few test loads through the 6x250. Between hunting out of state, life and general BS getting in the way, I pretty much just set the gun aside. Just now getting back to working on it.

Loaded up some 3 shot ladders with XMR4350 and SW Match Rifle. Had a good number of pulled Hornady 108s and figured those should be fine for initial testing.

XMR4350 I loaded 36.0gr-38.5gr
36gr was warm, clickers beginnings of flat primers. Load data was chosen based on GRT data. It was also 103° that day, did not shoot the rest. SWMR was loaded starting at 33gr, those were very hot. Flattened primers, extruding into flash hole, etc.

Didn't get any velocity readings, was just exploring pressure, which I'm glad I found at the low end of my ladder.

Planning on redoing my ladder this week, using the fired charges as max and loading below those.

Will update as I get more info and trigger time on this gun.
