6mm / .22-.250 200yd. load

I'm currently shooting 107gr. Sierra's in my 6mm/.22-.250 at rduced targets at 200yds,club limitation). Can anyone recommend a load that might be more accurate at 200yd? It shoots easily under 1/2 MOA now, but could I do better ? Not much load info. for this wildcat. Thanks for the help.

For 200 yards, try a good flat-based bullet like the Bib 95s or the Berger 80gr match. The Lapua Scenar 90gr boat-tail is also very accurate but doesn't agree with all barrels.

For Powder, try H4350 with the 95s. That's what David Tubb prefers for the heavy bullets. For the 80s, we don't know your case capacity, but Varget or Reloader 15 or N540 would give you pretty good load density. I can't really suggest a starting load, but I think you'll end up with about 37-39 grains.

Thanks for the reply. My case capacity,.22-.250 necked up to 6mm) when filled with water is 44.6gr. I currently load 31 gr. Varget for the Sierra 107 MK's. 32+gr. Varget is considered a pretty stiff load for this set-up. I am using a 28", 1 -7.75 Krieger barrel. Does this change any of your original assesment ? Thanks again for your time.

With a 44.6gr H20 capacity, I would use the Hodgdon start loads. Hodgdon lists a max of 37.0gr Varget with an 80gr Sierra BTSP hunting bullet. That rates, with QuickLoad) about 57,200 psi. Keep in mind this is only a computer prediction.

You don't necessarily need to go to a max charge,i.e. 60,000+ psi) with either the 80s or 95s. Find a load, for the 80s) that delivers the best accuracy at 200. Also the BIB 95s seem to perform best running between 3000 and 3100 fps. Much faster than that, in your 1:7.75" twist barrel and you risk some over-spin issues.
