6GT & H4350

I’ve tested the 6GT extensively in a couple of barrels. I also shoot a 6BR for PRS/NRL. The 6br is running 29.7 of Varget with Sierra 107 jammed at 2890fps and this combo has maintained .2-.3 moa at 100 yards across all rounds fired at short distance with 5-10 shot groups.
I built a 6GT to burn through h4350 and Rl16. My most recent barrel is averaging .3-.4 moa at 100 yards with 37.4 of H4350 and Sierra 107 running 3070-3080 fps. This barrel barely hit 160 rounds but is shooting great with H4350. I am going to try RL16 next. My first barrel showed a preference for RL16 Over h4350 and Sierra 107’s jammed.

@MikeMcCasland Have 85 rounds on my barrel now. Shooting 103 Vapor Trail Automated bullet. Interesting note, I shot up to 34.8 grains in the morning, cleaned the barrel and shot my next string which was 34.9 - 35.9. You could see the drop in velocity after cleaning barrel. It was a little cooler the second time I shot, that could have been part of it as well.

I tried H4350 in my 6x47L, 22 BR and 6 GT with unsuccessful results. When I tried RL-16 it all came together. With all cases 90-95% filled I see no signs of pressure. My accuracy on average is approximately .25MOA and velocity is faster then H4350. I hope this helps...
Curios what charge weight of rl16 you're running in the gt? Mine will be complete in a few weeks and I have a pile of rl16.

great thread!! im deciding on building a 6mm BR, Dasher or GT. any huge reasons to build one over the other? i have begun to gather components, 105 Berger Hybrids seem great with Varget.

what drew me to the GT is one I found for sale. I'm not familiar with Hawk Hill barrels. any good?

Hawk Hill barrels are top notch. Solid bunch of folks. They're all hand lapped buy the same guy for ever.

I've shot BR, Dasher, and currently GT. 6BR was probably the easiest for load development, and GT has a
wider assortment of bullet choices. Dasher was ok, but it wasn't that much more than the BR. I wanted to get away from the mag kits that the BR and Dasher require.

I built a prs 6 GT & a lightweight fun 6 GT. I usually shoot the 1st 100-150 rds at a lighter charge per GG’s recommendation. Shooting 32.5 Varget with 105 hybrids it’s just 1 hole at 100 yds on a 10 shot group. Repeatable every tim. SD’s a ridiculous 2-4. It’s so accurate I keep my lightweight fun/varmit rifle at 32.5. oh yeah, speed is ~ 2830. On my prs rig I run a hotter load, but have never = the precision of that light load. Impacts 737’s, Foundation & Manners LRH, TT diamonds, Bartlein 7.5 twist m24 & bartlein 7.2 twist m24 carbon.
