Im having a 6gt built by Jon Beanland which should be done shortly what is considered the best brass for the 6gt.
Midway has Lapua, Peterson and Alpha in stock

It’s hard to say which is “best” but I’d figure out what your chamber’s neck diameter is and go from there. I had to turn Alpha for one of my Beanlands and did not for another. Figure that out first.

Shot a lot of Lapua 6 GT brass?

Didn’t think so.

I’m a huge Lapua fan but their new GT leaves a lot to be desired.

I haven't, but I have lots of customers who have. I certainly haven't heard any complaints from Lapua brass in any cartridge. Including 6gt.

I have heard lots of complaints about Alpha, and the Peterson 6br brass being completely different case capacity.

People seem to like the Peterson 6gt.

I did have one customer that seems to be having a problem with his sizing die from another company not matching the chamber. The Lapua 6gt out the box shot fine, but his sizing die did something to it to create pressure after that. Still working on that.

That probably sounded hostile, but yea, that’s the exact same thing I’ve seen. I don’t think it’s the die. I think it’s metallurgical. Should have known better than to buy “first gen.” I’m way down in dasher territory with a lot of pressure problems.

I think my fixes are A) ask them for a newer lot of brass after a year or so and B) order a tight neck reamer and turn Alpha. If Alpha brass had better neck concentricity it would be untouchable.

I have 3 firings on my 300 pieces of Lapua brass. I can't say I'm uber impressed with my SD's but that might not be brass related but it may be? My accuracy is stellar shooting 0.1 - 0.15 mil.

I haven't really had any issues with the brass but I'm having a weird extraction issue on a small number of them? It's like a clicker but only happens at the very last 1/4 inch of the bolt throw when extracting. I'm not sure what is going on. I need to see if it still happens now that I'm rollsizing the base.

I purchased them because they are the only one with small flash holes and I thought that was important with these small high pressure cartridges and primer cratering.

Cheers,
Toby

Peterson 6mmGT is small flash hole.

I have both Alpha and Peterson. I will typically use Lapua for anything I shoot but this time I got the Alpha when I bought the rifle, so Alpha was it for me at first. I bought 50 pieces of Peterson to try as they have the small flash hole and I have never used Peterson before. Single digit sd's for both brands. Using the same load and Peterson brass is faster in my Brux 30".

In the 6mmGT we have Alpha, Peterson, and now Lapua brass available. Now that is one heck of a cartridge. I do realize some other brands might make brass for it, but I can't remember who they might be.....

I ended up ordering 100 each Lapua and Peterson 6gt brass.
I use Lapua for 223, 6br, 22-250AI and make my 6mm AI from Lapua 30-06 brass, just was curious about other brass I will probably try the Alpha also thanks for all the replies.
