6bra with 115gr

In MY rifle, with my lot of powder about 31.5 max, with 105’s in yours.....I can’t say.
Start low.

Any update on anyone shooting DTACs from a BRA? I seem to get the raised eyebrow every time I bring it up.

I’ve had such good luck with it in other cartridges.

I don't shoot a 6BRA, but a Dasher. If I recall correctly, the Dasher (without getting stupid with powder), couldn't get the 115's fast enough to really outshoot a 108 Berger or 105 Hybrid. So, I stayed with the 108's and couldn't be happier. If the BRA has less capacity then a Dasher, don't know how the 115's would fly.

If someone got the 115's to shoot in a BRA or Dasher, ballistically better, I would like to see that data.

Even if you run the 115's at a very slow 2750 fps and the 105's at 2950 fps, the 115's will have 0.1 mil less wind drift from 1000 yards and beyond, will reach the same distance for both transonic and subsonic, and will have more energy on target from about 500 yards and beyond. May not matter for all disciplines, but that's why they are a popular bullet in the steel shooting/PRS crowd.

A "1/10 Mil" is about 1/3 MOA, right? so at 1K, they will save you 3 1/2 inches and change. May keep you in the 10 ring, which is a good thing. I am so married to my 108's it would be hard to change, but, you never know, may have to take a look at some point.

I’m running a .310 G7 on the DTAC in my 6x47. So it pretty much blows others away in terms of wind. My goal is to hit 2800 accurately in the BRA to match my 6.5x47 with 140s ballistically.

Will be interesting to see if I can when it’s all done. I’m wondering if it’ll run that high. I would assume the 2730-2750 zone is possible for sure.

I don't think it's the ideal pill for the BRA and if you're keen to try and drive them, I'd run RL15 - not as much pressure compared to H4895.

I was thinking Varget or R15 would be better suited for the 115 Thanks.

I’m gonna try. If it doesn’t pan out there’s always the lighter options

I was chatting with another PRS shooter earlier this year and he had run the DTAC's in his BRA up to close to 2900 fps, using the same charge of Varget that he did in his Dasher, I think 31.x something. That's hotter than I'd run personally, most other guys I know running Dasher/DTAC's are in the low/mid 2800's using Varget. Quite a few PRS match wins this year with that combo.

I think the 2750-2800 range is very doable with the BRA and 115's. I've had the Sierra 110's up to 2900+ in a 26" barrel.

Thanks for the good feedback. I don’t like to run insane pressure.

I’ve been shooting a 6x47 with the DTAC. And I use my 6.5x47 for club matches. However I wanted to have a second 6 but with higher barrel life. Running that hot negates that benefit!
