6bra using RL15

I have been FFing with it at 29.5. I was going to give it a go as well. I think i will do a ladder at 300 starting at 30.2 going up .1 at a time for a bit and see how it goes. R.Gower (deadeye) posted he was up over 32g with no pressure and good speed. Was talking to him at Williamsport last weekend and he says it looks like the 15 is going to be his go to powder. I am pretty sure he is shooting the 103 VT bullet.

Regards
Rick

I'm running 30.4gr of RL15 - 30" Kreiger barrel, 5R, 1:8 twist. Averaging 2970fps with 103gr Copperhead bullets (similar to the Vapor Trail I believe). I'd start at 30gr and work up in .2gr increments. 30.6gr netted me an average speed of 2990 so that's 20fps with just a .2 change. ES and SD started to open up too at this point but was single digit with the 30.4 load. No pressure with this load either, cases and primers are falling out of the chamber very happy.

You managed to get a good supply of Reloader mate??

32.3 of RL-15 works for me.... jim

I am running a 7.5 twist Lederer 4 grove. I want to start a ladder with the RL-15. I am shooting 103 VT's. I see where Willow is using 30.4g in a 30" 8tw at 2970 with 103's. What kind of speeds are you seeing with 32.3 ? Thanks.......

Regards
Rick

You will not have a problem getting 3000, The only thing that will slow you down is the 7.5 always was a little slower than the 7.75 or the 7.83..... jim

I have some 109 Bergers to try but to get enough that are the same to test you would need 2000..... scrapped that, for the 110 Tip they are all the same ... jim

I have always had good luck with R15 in dashers and BRAs. I found it to make smaller groups and faster than Varget, 4350, or 4895, only problem is once the temp goes past 90 pressure jumps fast. If you are running a near max load you can get in trouble fast... John
