6bra repeater in Rem 700

I am in my fireforming rig, factory Remington 700 SA. Using Badger bottom metal and AICS mags worked fine through fire forming. And I have fired 5 cases 3 times and all fed fine. I picked up some MDT BR mags and tried a few through those yesterday, they worked as well. I wasn't running the bolt at rates, but I wasn't running it slow either...

I shot one string of 15 fairly quick, probably in 2-3 minutes, and I was surprised with the lack of heat on the barrel.

I tried the BDL mod without much reliability and ended up with a modified Cabelas Kwik Klip, works really good. I have used the Kwik Klip setup on several rifles. Its a great and cheap center feed alternative to BDL operation.

No disrespect intended. However the Video showing shells ejecting out nice and perfect is very miss leading. The problem with 6BR size cases in a 700 action is mostly not so much getting the case into the chamber with a Bullet to guide up in the feed ramp. And not so much grabbing the case to pull it out of the chamber. Its starts to get problematic once the FIRED case ( with no bullet unlike the video) has pressure on the case head up against the Plunger Ejector and the mouth of the empty case hits that right Race way of the Bolt Lug Recess, because its so short of a case it looses its pressure of the Plunger ejector, because of this steep angle, (unlike a longer case's,) that once it clears the port it does not have enough gittey up to throw it out and clear of that Port. It will just kind of pop off the extractor and bounce back into the action.
But you all knew this i suspect.

THAT EXPLAINS IT!!!

I had a 700 for a while with a 6br barrel. Never shot it. But it would shuck dummy rounds like normal. I always wondered why the consensus was it doesn't work.

Strangely enough they shuck just fine in an AR10. 6bra in an AR10 WITH NO MODS.

Yeah, no. The full size m16 extractor fixes that issue.

I should preface, I have about 7000rds of BR through a Remington 700 using a M16 extractor without issue. It's been a PRS rifle, in every situation I've not had an issue. I've built a lot of 6br repeater PRS rifles that have zero issues with ejection.

What mag is that is what I meant. It looks to be a single stack.

I guess it's an Accuracy International
