6BRA prefit barrel selection question

I think he is stating that he has a problem or chases problems with a .470.

Urban, is the Wilson a screw in press type die, many do not know they even exist!

Still lost me.

My chamber works great with either a Harrel's #3 or Wilson die. I have a bunch out in the field. People are using both Alpha and Lapua brass. Everyone is happy. I am still trying to figure out what the issue is...

The issue is that people have a hard time getting their head wrapped around the value of a high quality barrel, correct reamer dimensions, and not paying $700 for it.

People should be buying 3 at a time, not one!

.470 at the .200 line produces clickers, .4712....NO CLICKERs...Suburban, your reamer is a darn good one, and I NEVER got bolt clicks on heavy loads that I shot on your barrel....NEVER...

PS. I never got any copper fouling out of the Urbanrifleman's barrel...shock of my life! NEVER means Never!

Urban, the print on the reamer said to use standard BR headspace gauges. It is my understanding that Ackley gauges have a go that is 0.004 shorter than the standard go gauge to make firing the standard safe in the Ackley chamber. The standard go gauge becomes the no-go for the Ackley.

That is too short from my experience. I set Ackleys to zero headspace on the parent gauge.

I have the 6xc prefit from urban rifleman and my buddy has the 6bra from him, we both use the Wilson full length bushing dies, we shoot 105 class bullets and will say you get more than your money's worth with both the barrels and dies. Plus he is an excellent guy to deal with and talk to

This is 6bra Savage Large Shank barrel I made for Frank Blum.

This is what he said:

"I received the replacement die today. The cases come out looking a lot better now. I will get the old one in the mail tomorrow or Wed. Thanks for the great service.

It didn’t take long after switching over to #15 from H4895 to get my barrel shooting. I have attached a photo of four groups I shot this morning. I shot two and gave the barrel about five minutes and shot the last two. Dam good groups I think especially since they were shot off my tailgate shooting bench. It is by far more ridged than any portable I have seen. Just a little under a concrete bench. This barrel shoots great! Thanks"
